vanderbilt molecular pathogenesis

Provided by Vanderbilt University. Welcome. Vanessa Sperandio, PhD Professor of Microbiology and Biochemistry University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Director, Division of Molecular Pathogenesis. Postdoc at Vanderbilt University Medical Center Nashville, Tennessee, ... working on understanding the molecular pathogenesis of the food-borne pathogen Campylobacter jejuni. Relatively little is known about the structural organization of T4SSs that secrete effector proteins. In this thesis, I describe the isolation and analysis of a membrane-spanning core complex from the Helicobacter pylori cag T4SS, which has an important role in the pathogenesis of gastric cancer.
